September 20, 2026 · Mac 2.1.9, Windows 2.2.18

Improved: The per-app tone rules have been removed from Settings. Tone had stopped changing what comes back, so the setting was offering a choice that did nothing. Your writing modes and your personal dictionary are unaffected.
Improved: On Windows, the advanced “My own API keys” option has been removed. Sawti now talks only to its own service. If you had saved a key of your own, the app clears it from Windows Credential Manager the first time it starts.
Improved: A tidier Mac build: files that were only ever needed for testing no longer ship inside the app.

New: Settings, Account tab, now has a button to the plans whenever you need one: Choose a plan during or after the free week, Renew your subscription when it has ended, Add an hour when this month's hours are used up. It opens the website, where you sign in and land on the plans.
Improved: On Windows, the button in the window that says your free trial is complete now goes straight to the plans instead of the home page.
New: A Creator code field on sign-up, for people who come through a creator's link or code.
Fixed: An ended subscription no longer reads as a free trial that has not started.
Fixed: On Windows, “Forgotten your password?” no longer shows while you are signed in.

A new first run: Sawti is a keyboard, and the app now shows you how to switch it on and try it before you leave.

New: Four short screens after you sign in. The first says what most people never learn: Sawti is a keyboard that works inside WhatsApp, Mail and every app you type in; the app icon is only where you set it up.
New: Say one sentence inside the app before touching any setting, so your first result arrives in thirty seconds.
New: Switching the keyboard on is now two screens, not five: the button lands where the switches are, and the app explains the system’s Full Access warning before it appears. Your recording is sent once, turned into text and deleted; nothing else you type is ever sent.
New: A practice box inside the app: hold the globe key, pick Sawti, talk. The screen turns green the moment the Sawti keyboard is really active. On Android a button opens the keyboard picker for you.
Improved: The Home card now names the one step left (“not switched on yet”, “one step missing: Allow Full Access”) and disappears when the keyboard is ready.
New: A Creator code field on sign-up, for people who come through a creator’s link or code.

Sawti is on Google Play, and the Android app now asks for an account.

New: Sawti is now on Google Play. Install it from there and it updates on its own. The direct APK download is retired: a Play install cannot update over a copy installed from the APK, so the two must not mix.
New: The app asks you to create a free account or sign in before your first dictation. Free for a week, with about an hour of speaking included; no card needed.
New: Continue with Google and Continue with Apple, beside email and password.
Improved: Every dictation carries your sign-in, in the app and on the keyboard, and when the service says no it tells you which no: the free trial has ended, this month's plan allowance is used up, or the subscription has ended.
Improved: You can delete your account from inside the app, and “forgotten your password?” is a real link.
Fixed: Silence detection is recalibrated so it tells quiet speech from an empty recording correctly.
Fixed: The privacy and terms links open on every Android version, and Settings shows the real version number.

New: Sawti.exe now carries a digital signature issued to its publisher after Microsoft verified the business behind Sawti. Windows can check that the file really comes from us and has not been altered on the way. The blue "Windows protected your PC" notice may still appear for a while on fresh downloads, because Windows also learns to trust a file from how many people install it. That fades with time; the signature is what makes it possible.

Your sign-in now travels with every dictation, and clearer answers when something is refused.

Improved: When the service says no, the app now tells you which no: the free trial has ended, this month's plan allowance is used up, or the subscription has ended. Before, all three read as the trial being over, which was wrong for a paying customer.
Improved: Sign-in problems are named: too many attempts, a service problem, or no connection, instead of "email or password is incorrect" for everything.
Fixed: On Mac, pressing the recording key while the previous take is still being transcribed no longer starts a second recording on top of it.
Fixed: On Mac, read-back no longer puts the old clipboard back over something you copied in the meantime, and the temporary voice file is deleted after every dictation.
Fixed: On Windows, switching the interface language no longer leaves the Settings window behind, and a downloaded update is checked once more right before it runs.
Improved: "Delete all local data" now really removes everything, including your session and older leftovers, and signing out ends the session on the server too.

Fixed: The line about a forgotten password is now something you can click. It named this website in passing and left you to type the address yourself — on Windows it was missing altogether. It opens the page that sends you a reset link, which is also where an account created with Google or Apple chooses a password for the first time.
New: If your email address has not been confirmed yet, the Account screen says so and can send the confirmation again. An unconfirmed address cannot receive a reset link, so a typo used to lock you out quietly.

Fixed: The days left in your free trial are now written in correct Arabic. Every version until now used the form Arabic reserves for eleven and above, so on a seven-day trial the line was mis-worded every single day of it.

Fixed: Settings and About showed a version number that never changed, so there was no way to tell which build you were running. They now show the real version and build.
Improved: The keyboard setup steps now name each iOS Settings label in English as well (Settings, General, Keyboard, Allow Full Access). iOS Settings appears in your device’s language, not Sawti’s, so the Arabic names alone could not be found on an English iPhone.

Improved: On Android, the Account tab no longer opens the billing page from inside the app. To change or cancel your plan, use the link in the emails Paddle sends you about your subscription; the app now points you there. Nothing about your plan or your account changed.

Better Arabic in the writing modes.

Improved: Smart, Formal English and Vibe Code moved to a newer model. It follows what you actually said more closely: the model before it would occasionally add a word you never spoke. This reached every device through our servers, so there was nothing to install and you already have it.

Fewer settings to think about.

Improved: Settings no longer has a Tone picker. It only ever reached the two Arabic modes, where it repeated what Smart already does and worked against Literal Dictation, which exists to keep your dialect exactly as you said it.
Improved: The model-quality switch is gone as well. Which model Sawti uses now follows your plan, so there is nothing left to set by hand.

Fixed: The menu-bar panel could report the service as offline while Sawti was working perfectly well. It checked once at launch, often before Wi-Fi had connected, and never looked again. It now rechecks and recovers on its own.

New: Sawti checks for updates by itself and tells you once when one is ready. Nothing is ever installed unless you choose to.

Fixed: A recording that contained no speech could still come back as text, putting words you never said into whatever you were writing. Recordings with no speech in them now produce nothing, on every platform.
