Delete your account
How to delete your Sawti account and your data, what is deleted, and what we must keep.
v1.0 Effective 31 August 2026
This page explains how to delete your Sawti account, what is deleted, and what we are obliged to keep. It sits alongside the Privacy Policy at https://sawti.io/privacy.
1. Two different things you can delete
Sawti keeps very little about you, and it is kept in two separate places:
- On your own device. Your history, your dictionary, your snippets, your per-app rules, and your settings never leave your device. You can erase all of it yourself, at any time, without asking us.
- On our server. Only if you created an account: your email address and your password, stored as a one-way hash we cannot read. Deleting this is what “delete my account” means.
If you never created an account, there is nothing on our side to delete. Removing the app takes everything with it.
2. Erase the data on your device yourself
You do not need to write to us for this, and it is immediate.
Open Sawti, go to Settings, and use Delete all data («حذف جميع البيانات»). Confirm when asked. Your history, dictionary, snippets, app rules, and settings are erased from the device permanently.
Uninstalling Sawti also removes this data.
3. Ask us to delete your account
To delete the account itself, follow these steps:
- Step 1. Go to https://sawti.io/contact.
- Step 2. Enter the email address your Sawti account uses. This is how we identify the account, so please use the same address.
- Step 3. In the message, write “Delete my account”. You do not have to give a reason.
- Step 4. Send the form.
We will act on the request and confirm by email when it is done. Nothing else is required of you.
If you cannot reach the contact form, any message asking us to delete your account, sent from the account’s email address, is enough.
4. What is deleted
When we delete your account, we delete:
- your email address;
- your password hash;
- your sign-in sessions, on every device;
- the record linking your account to your plan.
After that, you can no longer sign in, and the account cannot be recovered. If you had a paid plan, deleting the account does not by itself cancel a subscription: cancel it first, or ask us to do both in the same message.
5. What we keep, and for how long
We keep only what the law requires or what no longer identifies you:
- Purchase and invoice records. French accounting law requires us to keep records of a sale for 10 years (Article L123-22 of the Commercial Code). These stay with our payment provider, Paddle, which is the seller of record on your receipt, and with our accounts. They are not used for anything else.
- Server access logs. Technical logs are kept for up to 6 months, then deleted automatically.
- Rate-limit counters. Short-lived technical counters that expire on their own, usually within an hour.
Nothing in that list is used to contact you or to rebuild an account.
6. Your recordings are already gone
Your voice is not stored. A recording is sent once, transcribed, and discarded. We do not keep the audio and we do not keep the text on our side, so there is no recording of yours for us to delete when you close your account.
Our transcription provider retains a request only transiently, to monitor for misuse, and then deletes it. This is described in section 5 of the Privacy Policy.
7. How long it takes
We delete accounts as soon as we can, and in any case within 30 days of your request, as required by the GDPR.
8. Contact
For anything on this page, or to make the request, use the contact form at https://sawti.io/contact or write to support@sawti.io from the account’s email address.
