Refund Policy
When you can get your money back, and how to ask.
v1.0 Effective 26 August 2026
This policy is written to French and EU consumer law. It sits alongside the Sawti Terms of Sale and does not reduce any right the law gives you.
1. Who you buy from
Paid Sawti plans are sold through Paddle, acting as merchant of record. Paddle is the seller named on your receipt: it takes the payment, charges any tax due in your country, and issues refunds. Sawti itself is published by Rami Hanna (see the Legal Notice at https://sawti.io/legal-notice).
You can ask either us or Paddle for a refund. Both routes reach the same place.
2. The free trial comes first
Every paid plan is preceded by a free trial that does not ask for a card. Nothing is charged during the trial, so there is nothing to refund. Please use the trial to decide: it is the most honest test of whether Sawti handles your voice, your dialect, and the apps you write in.
3. Your 14-day refund
You can ask for a full refund within 14 days of a payment, for any reason, without giving one. This covers a first purchase and a renewal alike.
For consumers in the European Union this matches the 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts (Articles L221-18 and following of the French Consumer Code). We apply the same 14 days to everyone, wherever you live.
4. Immediate access, and what it means for the withdrawal right
A paid plan is digital content that works the moment you pay. Under EU law, if you ask for access to begin straight away inside the 14-day window, and you acknowledge that this ends your statutory right of withdrawal, that right ends once we have delivered (Article L221-28, 13° of the French Consumer Code). The purchase page asks for that request and that acknowledgement, because otherwise we could not switch your plan on immediately.
Our own 14-day refund does not depend on any of that. Even where the statutory right has ended because you started using the plan, we will still refund you within 14 days of payment if you ask. We would rather return the money than keep a payment from someone Sawti did not help.
5. After 14 days
After 14 days we do not refund a period you have already had. You can cancel at any time to stop the next payment (section 6).
Two exceptions, which we treat as owed rather than as favours:
- A charge you did not intend. If a subscription renewed and you had not used Sawti during that billing period, write to us and we will refund it.
- Sawti did not work. If a fault on our side prevented you from using a plan you had paid for, and we could not put it right, we will refund the affected period. This is separate from, and does not replace, the legal guarantee of conformity described in the Terms of Sale, which cannot be excluded or limited.
6. Cancelling a renewal
A subscription renews until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time from the billing portal linked in your Paddle receipt, or by writing to us. Cancelling stops the next payment. It does not cut short the period you have already paid for: your plan keeps working until that period ends.
7. How to ask
Use the contact form at https://sawti.io/contact, or reply to your Paddle receipt. Tell us the email address you paid with. You do not have to explain why.
We aim to answer within 3 working days. Refunds are returned by Paddle to the payment method you used. How long the money takes to appear is set by your bank, usually 5 to 10 working days.
If you prefer a formal route you can use the model withdrawal form in the Terms of Sale, but no particular wording is required. A clear statement that you want a refund is enough.
8. Before you ask your bank
Please contact us before asking your bank to reverse a payment. A refund from us is faster than a chargeback, and it avoids your access being suspended while the bank investigates.
9. Your legal rights are unaffected
Nothing here limits the rights French and EU consumer law gives you, including the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content and digital services. If you live outside the European Union, the mandatory consumer protections of your own country continue to apply to you.
